Lest there be any confusion, I'm not really a doctor. I only have a master's degree. But I do love the samba, among other dances. It's one of my major diversions. (See below).

My Name

My full name is Peter L. Alcivar. Well, not entirely full. I'll leave it for you to guess the middle name. Send me mail and I'll tell you if you're right. A pet peeve of mine for most of the last 48 years has been the pronunciation of my last name. First I'll give you the original, Spanish pronunciation: al-SEE-var. But it's been Anglicized to AL-si-var. But whatever you do, please don't call me AlKivar, because that really squicks me...
