Sounds

All Night Jazz--A couple of people (Greg from college, and JoAnne, fellow software engineer) have told me that I should be a radio announcer. JoAnne went so far as to say she had a dream that I actually was one. She told me she thinks I have a "cool" voice. Here's a sample. What do you think? Note: I shamelessly stole this material from my college roommate (Sorry, Dan!). If you are an NPR station manager looking for new talent, write to me! (I'm probably too mellow for commercial radio.) Hey, don't laugh. Dreaming is free.

Balanga--An unforgettable line from the 1982 Paul Mazursky film Tempest, a modern-day retelling of Shakespeare's comedy starring the late great actors John Cassavetes (The Dirty Dozen) and Raul Julia (The Addams Family). In this scene, Julia, who plays an off-kilter Greek goatherd, attempts to seduce Cassavetes' daughter, played by a very young teenaged Molly Ringwald, a normal American girl who after 18 months of living in near-total isolation on a Greek island, is interested only in watching television. In the background you can hear "Gunsmoke" dubbed in Greek.

Celibacy--Another scene from Tempest, in which Cassavetes attempts to explain his present state of mind to his current love interest, played by the lovely and talented Susan Sarandon.

Looney Tunes--Sarandon's response to Cassavetes' explanation.

Dedodedo--A whimsical little wav file; it is my experience that you either love this one or you hate it.

Dedodie--For those who hate it.

Smelly Cat--Yes, the one from Friends.

What Was I Thinking?--A little snippet from Christine Lavin. If you like this, you must go see her perform.
